Martial arts club at Lydell for ages 11 and up, taught by Phil Sauer — North Shore resident, instructor since 1972, on staff at UW-Milwaukee since 1979. Kicking, punching, and self-defense work twice a week. 25% off for a second family member. Monday and Wednesday evenings.

This free football camp by the Gilbert Brown Foundation is perfect for young athletes eager to improve their skills. Held at Bradley Tech, it offers sessions for ages 8-17, with meals included. Professional players will guide participants, making it a unique chance to learn from the best. Transportation options make it accessible for all.

Thursday-night Zumba in the Lydell gym with certified instructor Linda Brown. Latin and international music, dance choreography that alternates low- and high-intensity intervals. The routines build week over week, so beginners can pick up the moves without feeling lost. 6:30–7:30pm.

Four-day afternoon golf camp on the Lydell soccer field, using the PGA's SNAG system - plastic clubs and tennis balls scaled for entry-level kids. Lower stakes than a real range, so it's a clean way to find out if a kid likes golf before investing in real clubs. All equipment provided. Bring 2 snacks and water.

Volleyball clinic for 1st-8th graders at WFB Middle School's new gym, running July 13-23 (Mon-Thu). Three sections — A1 and A2 cover the basics (setting, passing, footwork, arm swing, and communication), A3 introduces beginner-level competition skills. Pace is quick and drill-heavy so kids stay engaged.

Minute meditation and Reiki classes at Hamilton, Tuesdays from 6 to 7 PM. Learn techniques to lower stress and tap into energy healing.

Pack a bag lunch, water bottle, and nut-free snack.

The Heatwave Half-Marathon is a lively race event in Milwaukee, offering everything from a kids dash to a half-marathon. Expect great swag, including a designer shirt and custom medal, plus free Kona Ice at the finish line. Arrive early for packet pickup and enjoy the community vibe. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just in it for fun, this event is all about inclusivity and enjoyment.
