Part I

The details

About this event

The Volunteer Pull-A-Thon at Bratt Woods is a grassroots effort to combat the spread of garlic mustard, an invasive plant threatening local ecosystems. This annual event, organized by Sewisc, invites people of all ages to join forces and protect native wildflowers and forests. It's a family-friendly activity that encourages teamwork and environmental stewardship.

Participants will be provided with tools and guidance, making it accessible for everyone, regardless of experience. While there's no restroom on site, the camaraderie and sense of accomplishment make it worthwhile. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and prepare for some off-trail hiking. It's a meaningful way to connect with nature and the community.

From the organizer

Garlic Mustard is an invasive plant that’s taking over our woodlands. It crowds out our native wildflowers and endangers forests by preventing tree seedlings from growing. Join restoring lands staff and volunteers as we do a Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon at Bratt Woods to remove this invasive species from our preserve! The Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon is an annual fundraiser put on by Sewisc. Young people and adults throughout Southeastern Wisconsin work to protect the woodlands of their neighborhoods by forming teams to pull this invasive plant.
