About this event

The Volunteer Pull-A-Thon at Decorah Woods is a grassroots initiative aimed at combating the spread of garlic mustard, an invasive plant threatening local ecosystems. This event is a chance for community members to come together, roll up their sleeves, and make a real difference in preserving native habitats. It’s a family-friendly morning with a focus on teamwork and environmental stewardship.

Participants will be guided by experienced staff and volunteers from Restoring Lands. While tools are provided, bringing your own gloves is recommended. The event is set in the scenic Decorah Woods, offering a beautiful backdrop to your conservation efforts. Just remember, there are no restrooms on site, so plan accordingly.

The Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon is an annual fundraiser put on by Sewisc. Young people and adults throughout Southeastern Wisconsin work to protect the woodlands of their neighborhoods by forming teams to pull this invasive plant. To learn more, please visit the Sewisc website here: www.sewisc.org/garlic-mustard-pull-a-thon Please dress for the elements and be prepared for hiking off trail. Work gloves are recommended, tools provided. This preserve does not have a restroom on site. Group and family-friendly, children 13 and under require parental supervision. volunteer waiver required.
