The details

About this event

Get involved in local conservation efforts at the Volunteer Pull-A-Thon at Decorah Woods. This event focuses on removing garlic mustard, an invasive plant threatening native species. It's a practical way to contribute to the environment while enjoying the outdoors.

The event is organized by Sewisc, a group dedicated to protecting Wisconsin's woodlands. You'll be working alongside others who share a passion for nature, making it a great opportunity to meet like-minded people. Be sure to dress appropriately for outdoor work, and note that there are no restrooms on site.

Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or new to conservation work, this event is a meaningful way to make a difference. It's also family-friendly, so feel free to bring the kids along for a day of learning and community service.

From the organizer

Garlic Mustard is an invasive plant that’s taking over our woodlands. It crowds out our native wildflowers and endangers forests by preventing tree seedlings from growing. Join restoring lands staff and volunteers as we do a Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon at Decorah Woods to remove this invasive species from our preserve! The Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon is an annual fundraiser put on by Sewisc. Young people and adults throughout Southeastern Wisconsin work to protect the woodlands of their neighborhoods by forming teams to pull this invasive plant.
