About this event

Story Time at the Wauwatosa Public Library is designed for young children to explore the joys of reading and movement in a welcoming setting. This program is tailored for kids aged 3-6, offering a mix of stories, songs, and activities that encourage both learning and play. It's a great opportunity for children to develop early literacy skills while having fun.

Parents can relax as their children engage in activities that foster independence and creativity. The library's Story Room provides a cozy space for kids to interact with peers and explore new concepts through art, STEM, and mindful movement. Whether your child attends alone or with family, it's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

From the organizer

Story Time promotes early literacy development through interactive stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement. Children will practice gross and fine motor skills, as well as independence; your 3-6-year-old is encouraged to attend on their own if this suits their growing independence and your comfort, but adults (and younger/older siblings) are welcome to join and participate as well. This program fosters exploration and discovery, and may include art, STEM, and mindful movement. Registration is not required. Please note: Our children's programs are planned so that they are developmentally appropriate for children of the age range specified. Please respect these age designations when bringing children to Library programs.
