About this event

Rhyme Time Stay & Play at the Wauwatosa Public Library is a charming program designed for the youngest library-goers. It combines 20 minutes of interactive stories, songs, and movement with a half-hour of free play. This is a perfect opportunity for toddlers to develop early literacy skills while having fun.

The program is thoughtfully crafted for children from birth to two years old, ensuring activities are developmentally appropriate. Parents and caregivers can relax knowing their little ones are engaged in meaningful play. Plus, it's a great chance to meet other families in the community. Just show up — no registration required.

From the organizer

Rhyme Time is a 20-minute program which engages your child in early literacy development through interactive stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement. Rhyme Time is designed for children birth through 2 years accompanied by an adult. Older siblings are welcome.  Registration is not required. This Rhyme Time session will be followed by half an hour of unstructured play with developmentally appropriate toys. Mr. Fred Rogers shared the importance of play when he said, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.” We hope you'll stay and play with friends! Please note: Our children's programs are planned so that they are developmentally appropriate for children of the age range specified. Please respect these age limitations when bringing children to programs.
