The Savvy Caregiver Workshop is designed for those who find themselves in the challenging role of caring for a family member with dementia. This session provides actionable insights into the caregiving journey, covering everything from understanding dementia types to managing emotions. It's a practical guide to becoming more strategic and responsive in your caregiving role.
Held at the Martin Luther King Branch, this workshop is presented by a specialist from the Milwaukee County Department on Aging. It's an invaluable opportunity to learn from experts and connect with others in similar situations. Registration is required, so be sure to secure your spot.

Savvy Caregiver helps family caregivers acquire and strengthen knowledge, skills and attitudes to empower them to be more intentional, strategic and responsive in their care role. This workshop, presented by a specialist with the Milwaukee County Department on Aging, will cover: • Understanding the career of caregiving • Different types of dementia • How decline in cognition affects behavior • Managing emotions and feelings of caregiving • Fitting tasks and activities to the person’s abilities • Decision making skills Registration is required.
