Spring Moon is a unique blend of cultural celebration and community engagement, set in the picturesque Villa Terrace Museum & Gardens. This event marks the beginning of summer and International Workers' Day with a lineup of rituals, live music, and poetry. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in a creative atmosphere while reflecting on collective responsibility toward the environment and labor.

The event features a variety of activities, including a sound bath, grounding ceremony, and a panel discussion on water and workers. Local vendors at the Earth Market and interactive installations like The Water Cycle add to the experience. This free event encourages donations to support artists and a fundraiser for youth empowerment programs, making it a meaningful way to spend your day.

A celebration designed to honor the threshold of summer and International Workers’ Day: Walk into ritual, fashion, poetry, and live music. 🌕 Join us after the May Day march for Spring Moon, a free community event where we will celebrate Mother Earth and reimagine our collective future. On May 1st, 2026, the Villa Terrace Museum & Gardens transforms into a cocoon for rebirth and collective imagination. Marking both the ancient threshold of summer and International Workers’ Day, Spring Moon is a community-centered celebration featuring ceremony, fashion, poetry, and music. We honor the hands that build and the waters that sustain us. Experience Highlights: Ceremony & Wellness: Participate in a Sound Bath (5:00 PM), Grounding Ceremony (5:40 PM), and EFT Tapping (6:00 PM). Music & Poetry: Enjoy a Music Welcoming by Teacher Marcya (6:30 PM), Poetic Offerings from Kavon Cortez Jones (6:50 PM), and a live sonic offering by Death Is A Business (8:10 PM). Community Conversation: Join the "Water and Workers" Panel (7:10 PM), a discussion exploring collective responsibility to land, water, and labor in the face of the AI revolution. Ongoing Attractions: The Earth Market- a curated circle of local vendors. The Water Cycle, a fun interactive water tool on wheels made out of a rainbarrel by Milwaukee Water Commons, a cross-city nonprofit network that promotes water justice, stewardship, and equitable decision-making for Milwaukee's shared water resources. Fashion inspired by Mother Earth designed by Marlie-Madison Hansen. Support Our Community: This is a free community event, but your support is essential! Artist Donation: Your ticket donations help us reach our $10,000 goal to pay our incredible artists. All donations are tax deductible through our fiscal sponsor, Create Wisconsin. Fundraiser: During the event we will host a fundraiser for Voces De La Frontera’s youth program, YES (Youth Empowered in the Struggle). This program empowers students by developing their leadership skills through creating campaigns that address issues affecting students and Wisconsin communities.
