About this event

Rhyme Time Stay & Play is a charming program at the Wauwatosa Public Library designed for children aged 0-2. This engaging session includes 20 minutes of interactive stories, songs, and movement activities that promote early literacy. It's a fantastic opportunity for young kids to learn in a fun and supportive environment.

After the structured program, there's a half-hour of unstructured play with toys that cater to developmental needs. This is a wonderful chance for kids to explore and for parents to meet other families. The library makes it easy by not requiring registration, so you can simply drop in and enjoy the experience.

From the organizer

Rhyme Time is a 20-minute program which engages your child in early literacy development through interactive stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement. Rhyme Time is designed for children birth through 2 years accompanied by an adult. Older siblings are welcome. Registration is not required. This Rhyme Time session will be followed by half an hour of unstructured play with developmentally appropriate toys. Mr. Fred Rogers shared the importance of play when he said, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.” We hope you'll stay and play with friends! Please note: Our children's programs are planned so that they are developmentally appropriate for children of the age range specified. Please respect these age limitations when bringing children to programs.
