About this event

Rhyme Time Stay & Play at the Wauwatosa Public Library offers a wonderful opportunity for young children and their caregivers to engage in early literacy activities. Designed for ages 0-2, this program features interactive stories, songs, and fingerplays that make learning fun and engaging.

After the structured session, children can enjoy half an hour of free play with age-appropriate toys. It's a great way for little ones to socialize and for parents to connect with each other. The library provides a welcoming space where learning and play go hand in hand, inspired by the philosophy of Mr. Fred Rogers.

From the organizer

Rhyme Time is a 20-minute program which engages your child in early literacy development through interactive stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement. Rhyme Time is designed for children birth through 2 years accompanied by an adult. Older siblings are welcome. Registration is not required. This Rhyme Time session will be followed by half an hour of unstructured play with developmentally appropriate toys. Mr. Fred Rogers shared the importance of play when he said, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.” We hope you'll stay and play with friends! Please note: Our children's programs are planned so that they are developmentally appropriate for children of the age range specified. Please respect these age limitations when bringing children to programs.
