About this event

Rhyme Time Stay & Play at the Wauwatosa Public Library is perfect for parents looking to engage their toddlers in early literacy activities. This 20-minute session includes interactive stories, songs, and movement, designed specifically for children aged 0-2. It's a welcoming space where older siblings can join too.

After the structured activities, the library offers a half-hour of unstructured play with developmentally appropriate toys. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to learn through play and for parents to connect with others in the community. No registration is required, making it easy to drop in and enjoy.

From the organizer

Rhyme Time is a 20-minute program which engages your child in early literacy development through interactive stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement. Rhyme Time is designed for children birth through 2 years accompanied by an adult. Older siblings are welcome.  Registration is not required. This Rhyme Time session will be followed by half an hour of unstructured play with developmentally appropriate toys. Mr. Fred Rogers shared the importance of play when he said, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.” We hope you'll stay and play with friends! Please note: Our children's programs are planned so that they are developmentally appropriate for children of the age range specified. Please respect these age limitations when bringing children to programs.
