The details

About this event

Rhyme Time Stay & Play at the Wauwatosa Public Library is a charming event for children aged 0-2 and their caregivers. This program offers a mix of interactive stories, songs, and movement activities designed to support early literacy. It's a welcoming space where young children can engage with books and music in a fun, relaxed setting.

Following the structured portion, families can enjoy a half-hour of unstructured play with age-appropriate toys. This is an excellent opportunity for children to socialize and for parents to connect with others in the community. The library's focus on developmental appropriateness ensures a nurturing environment for all attendees.

From the organizer

Rhyme Time is a 20-minute program which engages your child in early literacy development through interactive stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement. Rhyme Time is designed for children birth through 2 years accompanied by an adult. Older siblings are welcome. Registration is not required. This Rhyme Time session will be followed by half an hour of unstructured play with developmentally appropriate toys. Mr. Fred Rogers shared the importance of play when he said, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.” We hope you'll stay and play with friends! Please note: Our children's programs are planned so that they are developmentally appropriate for children of the age range specified. Please respect these age limitations when bringing children to programs.
