Milwaukee's downtown waterways pass the same riverbanks, bridges, and industrial remnants that shaped the city's history — and from the seat of a kayak, you're low enough to actually notice them. Milwaukee Kayak Company teams up with Milwaukee County Historical Society archivists Steve Schaffer and Michael Barera to lead small-group paddles along the Menomonee River and through downtown, pausing at significant spots while the guides explain what happened here and why it still matters.
