About this event
Black Birders Week at Havenwoods State Forest offers a unique chance to connect with nature and celebrate Black joy in the outdoors. The event kicks off with a bird walk, perfect for both seasoned birders and newcomers. Afterward, engage in hands-on activities like making bird feeders and navigating a bird migration obstacle course.
This event is a collaboration between the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, Havenwoods Neighborhood Partnership, and the BIPOC Birding Club of Wisconsin. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the contributions of Black birders and scientists while enjoying a day out in the fresh air. Binoculars are available, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm.
