About this event

Explore the art of handbuilding with clay in this comprehensive four-week course at Tooth and Nail Studio. Perfect for beginners, this class covers essential techniques like slab building, pinching, and coiling, with all materials and tools provided. Led by Reva Kashikar, a seasoned ceramic artist, you'll gain hands-on experience in a supportive setting.

The course also includes a free open studio session, allowing you to practice and complete projects at your own pace. Once completed, you'll have the opportunity to continue working independently during future open studio hours. It's an ideal way to immerse yourself in the world of ceramics and develop a new creative skill.

From the organizer

In this four week course, students will learn the basics of hand-building with clay. No prior experience is required. Techniques such as slab building, pinching, coiling, and carving will be introduced. We will also learn how to use studio equipment such as the slab roller and extruder. With these techniques it is possible to build anything from vessels to sculptures and beyond. All clay, glazes, tools, and firing fees are included in the cost of the class. One free open studio session during the month of the class is included so that students can practice or complete extra work on their project. Once this four week course is completed, students are eligible to work in T+N’s studio independently during future open studio hours. Registration is not refundable or exchangeable less than 14 days before the start date of the class. Also, missed classes cannot be made up.
