The details

About this event

Join the community effort to protect Havenwoods State Forest by participating in the Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon. This event is a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, meet like-minded people, and make a tangible impact on the local ecosystem. Volunteers will work together to remove invasive plants like Garlic Mustard and Dame’s Rocket, helping native species thrive.

The event is organized by Friends of Havenwoods and is part of a larger regional effort led by the Southeast Wisconsin Invasive Species Consortium. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or new to conservation work, you'll find this event rewarding and educational. Plus, all necessary tools and gloves are provided, so you can focus on making a difference.

From the organizer

Join the Friends of Havenwoods as part of the Southeast Wisconsin Invasive Species Consortium’s (SEWISC) annual Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon! During these events, volunteers will assist with removing Garlic Mustard and Dame’s Rocket from various areas throughout the forest. For a list of all dates, or to support the Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon team at Havenwoods, visit the SEWISC website [exit DNR]. Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and sunscreen/insect repellant. If you have a pair of work gloves to use, great. If not, we’ll have some to borrow for the day, as well as knee pads, shovels and other tools. Please bring your own water bottle. This event will be held rain or shine.
