Pull garlic mustard at Havenwoods and help restore the forest.
Part I
About this event
Dive into nature and lend a hand at the Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon at Havenwoods State Forest. This community-driven event focuses on removing invasive species like garlic mustard and Dame’s Rocket, helping to preserve the local ecosystem. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Volunteers will be equipped with all necessary tools, including gloves and knee pads, so you can focus on the task at hand. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a first-time volunteer, your efforts will help maintain the beauty and health of the forest. Don’t forget to bring your own water bottle and wear appropriate clothing for this rewarding outdoor activity.
From the organizer
Join the Friends of Havenwoods as part of the Southeast Wisconsin Invasive Species Consortium’s (SEWISC) annual Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon! During these events, volunteers will assist with removing Garlic Mustard and Dame’s Rocket from various areas throughout the forest. For a list of all dates, or to support the Garlic Mustard Pull-A-Thon team at Havenwoods, visit the SEWISC website [exit DNR]. Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and sunscreen/insect repellant. If you have a pair of work gloves to use, great. If not, we’ll have some to borrow for the day, as well as knee pads, shovels and other tools. Please bring your own water bottle. This event will be held rain or shine.
