About this event

Explore the art of pottery in this beginner's wheel throwing class at Tooth and Nail Studio. Led by Shelby Page, a skilled potter known for her functional and timeless pieces, this course covers everything from the basics of throwing to the intricacies of glazing. With all materials and firing fees included, it's a comprehensive introduction to the craft.

Over four sessions, you'll gain confidence and foundational skills, making it ideal for those looking to dive into pottery. The course also includes a free open studio session, allowing you to practice and complete projects at your own pace. Once completed, you'll have the opportunity to work independently in the studio during future open hours, making this a perfect starting point for your pottery journey.

From the organizer

In this beginner course, the basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel and creating pieces from start to finish will be covered. All clay, glazes, tools, and firing fees are included in the cost of the class. No experience is needed as this class will begin with an explanation of the ceramic process and move through throwing, trimming, and glazing. The goal of this course is to give students a foundation of skills to build on and the confidence to do so with or without continued direct instruction. Class can be repeated to hone basic skills before moving on to Level 2. One free open studio session during the month of the class is included so that students can practice or complete extra work on their projects. Once this four week course is completed, students are eligible to work in T+N’s studio independently during future open studio hours. Registration is not refundable or exchangeable less than 14 days before the start date of the class. Also, missed classes cannot be made up.
