About this event
The next step up from tee-ball: 1st and 2nd graders hit a ball pitched by their coach; learning to read and time live pitching without the pressure of a kid pitcher. A softer ball keeps fear of injury out of the catching and throwing equation. The league emphasizes skill development and sportsmanship over win-loss records. Volunteer parent coaches run the teams; with the league actively recruiting more. Practices may be scheduled by the coach but are never mandatory — kids who miss practice still get full playing time. Kids must bring their own glove. June 20-July 25 · At Cumberland or Richards Fields · Led by Volunteer Parent Coaches · $80 residents; $90 non-residents.
