Chess Scholars Camp

A week of chess at Lydell Community Center built around the same rhythm every day: an instructor-led teaching period; then guided practice where kids play each other with a coach watching the board. Beginners pick up the rules and basic tactics; stronger players get pushed on openings and endgames. The last day is a non-elimination tournament; so kids who lose early still get more games. After School Enrichment Staff lead it in Room 15. Room 15. July 20-24; 10am · At Lydell School & Community Center · $150 residents; $160 non-residents.
