Shorewood Drama Jr. has always been a place for budding actors and technicians. This summer; officially add stitchers and dressers to that list. This class is similar to the tech section offered during the summer; but instead of learning about power tools and building the set; members of the costume class will learn how to design a show from concept to completion. The course will cover researching the script (Disney’s Newsies JR.) and its historical context; gaining basic knowledge of hand and machine sewing; including sewing notions and tools; learning the vocabulary needed for a beginning designer; exploring all the methods of gathering or building costumes and accessories for the show; designing and styling historical hairstyles (wigs); as well as facial hair and makeup; running backstage costume needs; from care and maintenance to helping actors with dressing; hair; and makeup; and striking a production after the run is over. No costume or sewing experience is necessary; learn and have fun in the process! Production dates are Saturday; July 25 @ 7:00 pm and Sunday; July 26 @ 1:30 pm. · June 22; 2026 to July 23; 2026 · Led by Sara Van Loon · $200.00 resident; $250.00 non-resident · At Shorewood High School

MiSA's twice-weekly bachata sessions are low-stakes and well-taught — $20 suggested, no partner required, and instructors who calibrate to the room. Runs right before Salsa if you want to stack your evening.
MiSA's Friday line dance sessions are a solid way to start the evening without much commitment. No partner, no experience — Suav, Greye, and Brister keep it moving and teach actual choreography you can take home.
