The details

About this event

Dive into the world of ceramics with the Teen Wheel Throwing Camp at Tooth and Nail Studio. Over four days, teens will learn essential pottery skills, from centering clay to adding decorative touches. Guided by experienced instructor Ang Van Den Eeden, participants will create functional pieces like bowls and cups, all professionally glazed and fired.

This camp offers a unique opportunity for creative expression in a supportive environment. With limited spots available, it’s a great way for teens to explore their artistic side and take home pieces they can be proud of. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this camp is designed to inspire and educate.

From the organizer

This camp introduces teens to the essential skills of wheel throwing in a real ceramic studio. Students will learn how to center clay, open forms, and pull walls while creating functional pottery such as cups, bowls, and small plates. Campers will learn trimming techniques and how to add handles using slip and score. We’ll also explore simple surface decoration techniques, including carving and sgraffito. Each teen will select glazes for their pieces, which will be professionally glazed and fired for a finished, food-safe result. Finished pots will be ready for pickup 3 weeks after camp. Each camper can expect to finish 6-12 pieces that they are truly proud of.
