Kids learn bike safety with fun races at Shorewood's annual event.
Part I
About this event
The Shorewood First Ride & Bike Rodeo is a community favorite, offering a mix of education and entertainment for young cyclists. Hosted at the Atwater Elementary School West Playground, this event focuses on teaching essential bike safety skills using the "balance first" method for younger kids, while older children can enjoy engaging activities like relays and races.
Pre-registration is a must, as this free event is popular among Shorewood residents. It's a great opportunity for kids to gain confidence on their bikes and for parents to learn about traffic rules. With a focus on fun and safety, it's an ideal way to spend a Saturday with the family.
From the organizer
The Shorewood Recreation Department will again host this annual event, intended to encourage children’s bicycling skills and safety, at the Atwater Elementary School West Playground. Last check-in is at 11 a.m. Bike Rodeo: For children in Grades 2-6, this clinic will educate parents and children about bike safety and traffic rules, and will feature fun relays and races. Last check-in is at 1 p.m.
