About this event
Rocks Rock! is a delightful opportunity for families to connect with nature while learning about the geological wonders of Lake Michigan. This event is designed for children aged 3 and up, making it an ideal family outing. Led by Environmental Educator Aubrey Fulsaas, the program includes a guided hike along the shoreline where participants can discover different rock types, including colorful granite and ancient fossils.
The hands-on experience doesn't end there. Each child gets the chance to select a special rock and decorate it, creating a unique keepsake to take home. The combination of educational content and creative activity makes this event both informative and fun. Whether you're a local or visiting Milwaukee, this is a great way to engage kids with the natural world.
From the organizer
In this child/adult pair program, enjoy a rockin’ good time exploring the rocks found in Lake Michigan! Learn about how they form and change through the rock cycle, and study how to identify different types we find along our shoreline, including colorful granite and ancient fossils. In this guided hike led by Environmental Educator Aubrey Fulsaas, we will explore the beach and select a special rock to decorate and take home. This program is designed for children aged 3 and older. Each child requires a ticket; children must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can accompany more than one child. This program will take place both indoors and outdoors.
