Reptile Day at Wehr Nature Center offers a unique opportunity to explore the captivating world of reptiles and amphibians. From colorful snakes to fascinating turtles, you'll get to see dozens of species up close. The event includes a guided hike, where you can search for turtles and listen for frogs in their natural habitat. It's an educational experience that teaches how to coexist with these often misunderstood creatures.
Kids will love the free reptile-themed crafts, making it an engaging day for the whole family. With food available for purchase, you can enjoy a picnic while supporting the Friends of Wehr Nature Center. Whether you're a reptile enthusiast or just curious, this event promises a day of discovery and fun in nature.

Discover the world of reptiles and amphibians! Meet colorful snakes, wondrous turtles, and unique lizards and salamanders. See dozens of species on display and enjoy a guided hike to look for turtles and listen for frogs. Participants will learn ways to live harmoniously with our misunderstood and scaly wild neighbors. Kids will enjoy reptile-themed crafts available free of charge. Food will be available for purchase and proceeds benefit Friends of Wehr Nature Center. We hope you’ll join us for all the scaly fun!

$7 per person (non-member); $5 per person (Friends of Wehr member); Free for children ages 2 and under. $5 parking fee for non-members.
Pro tips
Bring a stroller for the guided hike if you have young kids. The trails can be uneven, and it's a long walk for little legs. Strollers are allowed on the paths.
If you're not a member, consider carpooling to save on the $5 parking fee. The fee is per vehicle, not per person, so sharing a ride can cut costs.
