The camp is more than just a crafting session; it's an educational journey through the stages of ceramics. Kids will not only create their own sea creatures but also learn to paint and glaze their creations. With limited spots available, early registration is recommended to ensure a place in this engaging and educational experience.
The studio is on the third floor with no elevator access, so be prepared for stairs if you're bringing younger siblings or have mobility concerns.
Let’s explore the world that exists under the sea, sculpt a squid or coil-build an octopus! In this four day camp students will have fun learning the basics of handbuilding with clay. Using our vast oceans as inspiration, students will learn how to make forms using pinching and coiling, slab building, and sculpting techniques. Over four days, students will learn about the different stages clay goes through as it becomes ceramic, and use their new knowledge to paint and decorate their work using slip and glaze. Students will walk away with a new love for all things ceramic, and all the knowledge they need to work with clay.
