The day kicks off with performances by poets Bryon Cherry, Siwar Masannat, and Bethany Price, each bringing their unique voice to the stage. As the afternoon unfolds, small-press enthusiasts can enjoy a special presentation by pitymilk press, highlighting their contributions to the literary scene.
The evening culminates with the Native Writers in the 21st Century series, featuring esteemed authors like Sherwin Bitsui and Kimberly Blaeser. This event is a perfect blend of nostalgia and celebration, offering a chance to engage with the vibrant literary community that Woodland Pattern has fostered over the years. Pro tips
Arrive around 12:45 pm to get a good spot for the 1 pm readings. The venue tends to fill up quickly, and you'll want to be settled before the poets start.
For the potluck at 5 pm, bring a dish that doesn't require reheating. There are limited outlets for crockpots, and cold dishes are easier to manage.
