About This Venue
VIA CDC (formerly Layton Boulevard West Neighbors) is a community development corporation dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods on Milwaukee's near south side through housing, economic development, and community building initiatives.
Founded in 1995 by the School Sisters of St. Francis, VIA CDC has spent nearly three decades serving the Silver City, Burnham Park, Layton Park, and Clarke Square neighborhoods with a mission rooted in ensuring all people have access to resources needed to thrive. The organization operates from their base on National Avenue and focuses on practical, neighbor-centered support that helps residents improve their quality of life.
VIA CDC offers tangible programs including a Home Improvement Matching Grant that provides up to 50% cost coverage (up to $5,000) for homeowners looking to upgrade their properties, along with low-interest loans and energy efficiency upgrades. They also support local business development through one-on-one assistance, grants, and financing access, while actively advocating for community voices to be heard through civic engagement initiatives and neighborhood census efforts.
