The Traveling Beer Garden transforms Milwaukee County Parks into temporary outdoor beer gardens from May through September, serving craft beers and traditional German fare from restored mobile fire trucks.
This unique seasonal operation brings the historic beer garden tradition—established in Wisconsin by German brewers in the 1850s—to parks throughout the county for approximately two-week rotations. Managed by Milwaukee County Parks in partnership with Sprecher Brewery, the garden features an ever-rotating selection of craft beers including options from Third Space, New Glarus, and 3 Sheeps Breweries, along with cider, gluten-free, and non-alcoholic beverages. Traditional beer garden food, live music performances, and the option to bring your own commemorative glass for refill pricing create an authentic communal atmosphere.
Open Monday through Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Traveling Beer Garden offers an accessible and affordable way to enjoy quality beer and food outdoors with family and friends. All revenue generated goes directly back into improving Milwaukee County Parks, making each visit a contribution to the community. Private event bookings are also available during off-hours Tuesday through Friday.
