About This Venue
The Pod - LIFT Field Hockey is a Milwaukee-area nonprofit organization dedicated to building leadership, sportsmanship, fitness, and confidence in young girls through field hockey instruction and team play.
LIFT Field Hockey serves girls ages kindergarten through 12th grade from over 20 schools across the region, offering year-round programming for younger players and off-season opportunities for high schoolers. The organization operates with a "whole person" approach that extends beyond athletic skill development, emphasizing personal growth, leadership skills, and self-esteem building. Players are organized into age-appropriate teams with creative names like Belugas, Right Whales, Narwhals, and Blue Whales, welcoming newcomers at any point during the season regardless of prior experience.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, LIFT Field Hockey fills an important gap in Wisconsin, a state with limited high school field hockey opportunities. The organization uses the sport as a vehicle for teaching teamwork, community service, and sportsmanship while helping develop the field hockey community for local middle and high schools. Families appreciate the program's holistic philosophy, with parents noting how it has positively impacted their daughters' confidence and prepared them for competitive play at higher levels.
