About This Venue
The Sailing Club at UWM is a student-led organization open to the entire UWM community and general public that teaches sailing, small boat handling, and competitive racing on Milwaukee's waterfront.
Founded to make sailing accessible to the university community, the club operates as an all-volunteer organization based out of a private slip at Jerry's Dock (318 S. Water St., slip #36) in downtown Milwaukee, just across the street from Next Act Theater. Members enjoy instruction from experienced sailors, access to club boats including their main vessel Revelation, and opportunities to participate in both casual sailing and inter-collegiate racing competitions throughout the sailing season.
Membership is affordable and open to UWM students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members, with student members gaining voting rights on club decisions. The club maintains an active calendar of events including seasonal boat preparation days, racing instruction, and social sailing outings, with a strong emphasis on community involvement and hands-on participation in maintaining and preparing boats for the water.
