About This Venue
The Nehemiah Project Inc. is a residential social services organization dedicated to providing housing, care, and comprehensive programs for teenage boys in out-of-home placement on Milwaukee's West Side.
For more than 50 years, the Nehemiah Project has served as a stabilizing force for youth facing significant challenges including poverty, violence, abuse, neglect, and lack of educational resources. The organization has recently undergone strategic updates to better meet evolving needs, including enhanced staff training, modernized living facilities, and a Support and Wellness Initiative designed to help residents during shorter, more intensive stays while prioritizing family reunification whenever possible.
The organization's approach centers on providing what they call "Help, Home, and Hope"—offering psychological, educational, and leadership services within a safe, caring residential community. Through programs like financial literacy, pre-employment training, recreation and enrichment activities, and restorative justice initiatives, the Nehemiah Project equips teenage boys with the tools and skills needed to transition successfully into young adulthood and become contributing members of their communities.
