About This Venue
Milwaukee Youth Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit performing arts organization celebrating over 30 years of providing free theatre experiences and productions for children and teens ages 8-18 in the Milwaukee area.
Founded in 1992, Milwaukee Youth Theatre offers young performers the opportunity to participate in four main stage productions annually at no cost, with open auditions welcoming students of all experience levels. The organization also provides behind-the-scenes training in directing, stage management, lighting and sound design, set design, costume design, and marketing for students interested in technical theatre. Their resident location at the Lincoln Center of the Arts, a Milwaukee Public School specializing in arts education, serves as a hub for their vibrant creative community.
In addition to main stage productions featuring shows like Schoolhouse Rock Jr. and Much Ado About Nothing, MYT brings theatre directly to schools, libraries, and community centers through touring productions and in-class workshops. The organization also offers special programming like their Theatre Olympics day camp and the opportunity to join the student production crew, making professional-quality theatre training accessible and affordable for young people throughout Milwaukee.
