About This Venue
Milwaukee Turners at Historic Turner Hall is a century-old nonprofit community center offering fitness, climbing, gymnastics, live music, dining, and social justice programming in a historic Walker's Point venue.
Since 1853, the Milwaukee Turners have operated on the principle of a "sound mind in a sound body," creating a welcoming space where fitness, wellness, and civic engagement intersect. The organization runs what may be the longest continuously operating gymnasium in the United States, featuring rock climbing walls, weight training, cardio equipment, gymnastics classes, and ice climbing instruction. Beyond physical fitness, Turner Hall serves as a cultural hub with a ballroom hosting live music and events, plus an on-site restaurant.
Today, the Milwaukee Turners blend their athletic mission with active community work, offering harm reduction resources, workshops on voting rights and immigration, youth correctional alternatives programming, and peer support services. The atmosphere reflects the organization's commitment to social justice and confronting systemic inequities, making it a unique gathering place where residents of all backgrounds can access affordable fitness, education, and community connection in the historic Walker's Point neighborhood.
