Grateful Girls, Inc. is a nationally accredited nonprofit organization in Milwaukee dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and supporting girls, teens, women, and survivors of sex trafficking through comprehensive residential and community-based services.
Located on the city's north side, Grateful Girls operates with a mission centered on the critical developmental years between ages 12-25, providing state-licensed group homes called Safe Haven I and II for young survivors, along with a welcoming Community Resource Center open five days a week that offers essential clothing, toiletries, and programming at no cost to visitors. The organization's holistic approach includes job training through Queen's Closet, a community boutique; therapeutic services like group therapy and mentoring; and creative outlets including art, poetry, and gardening to support emotional healing and healthy decision-making.
With Council on Accreditation certification affirming their best-practice standards, Grateful Girls embodies a compassionate, faith-centered philosophy focused on nurturing independence and community growth. The organization also hosts Stay Out the Game 101, an annual human trafficking awareness summit for youth, reflecting their commitment to prevention and education alongside direct survivor support in the Milwaukee community.
