A watercolor class built around painting architecture. Mary Pesch walks painters through the surfaces that give old buildings their character: weathered wood; fieldstone; brick; clapboard siding. Each project tackles a different subject; from historical buildings and warehouses to barns; doors; and bridges; with step-by-step illustrated worksheets and class demos. The class also covers the landscape around the buildings; shrubs; trees; and how perspective; lighting; and mood pull a scene together. Intermediate painters get the most out of it; but motivated beginners are welcome. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at Lydell School & Community Center. June 2; 9am · At Lydell School & Community Center · $120 residents; $130 non-residents.
