American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid certification course; taught by Jessica Heller of Heller Safety Solutions. The format is blended: online coursework (about 2.5 hours; sent a week before the class) plus an in-person hands-on session at the Lydell Community Center. The in-person evening session covers the hands-on practice and the skills test — choking response; basic first aid; CPR technique; AED operation for sudden cardiac arrest. Successful completion earns the American Red Cross certification valid for two years. Classes run 6:00 to 8:15pm. Ages 11 and up; so this works for teens preparing for babysitting or summer jobs as well as adults updating an expired certification.
