Part I
About this event
Experience the charm of "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" at the Avalon Atmospheric Theater. This 1995 classic brings together Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze, and John Leguizamo in a heartwarming and humorous journey across America. As they navigate through small-town challenges, the characters discover more about themselves and the communities they encounter.
The Avalon Theater provides the perfect backdrop for this film, with its vintage atmosphere enhancing the cinematic experience. Whether you're revisiting this beloved film or seeing it for the first time, it's an opportunity to enjoy a night of laughter and reflection. Grab your tickets and prepare for an evening of entertainment and nostalgia.
From the organizer
Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes), Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze), and Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo) hit the road in a late-model DeVille convertible to compete in the Drag Queen of America pageant in Hollywood, California. Their drive takes them through much of the country where alternate lifestyles are less tolerated than they may be in New York City or Los Angeles. The three have an extended stay in small town Snydersville, where their car breaks down. If they ever make it out of Snydersville, they may be the better for their stay by learning more about themselves while dealing with the issues of town residents and spending more time together.
