Rhyme Time Stay & Play at the Wauwatosa Public Library is a charming event designed for the youngest book lovers. This 20-minute session engages children aged 0-2 with interactive stories, songs, and movement, fostering early literacy skills. It's a welcoming environment where older siblings can join in the fun, making it a family-friendly outing.
Following the storytelling, kids can enjoy half an hour of unstructured play with toys that support their developmental stages. It's a perfect opportunity for parents to connect while their children explore and learn through play. The library's thoughtful approach ensures that activities are age-appropriate, creating a nurturing space for growth and socialization.
Rhyme Time is a 20-minute program which engages your child in early literacy development through interactive stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement. Rhyme Time is designed for children birth through 2 years accompanied by an adult. Older siblings are welcome. Registration is not required. This Rhyme Time session will be followed by half an hour of unstructured play with developmentally appropriate toys. Mr. Fred Rogers shared the importance of play when he said, “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning.” We hope you'll stay and play with friends! Please note: Our children's programs are planned so that they are developmentally appropriate for children of the age range specified. Please respect these age limitations when bringing children to programs.
