Lakefront Discovery Run

Veterans Park·Downtown, Milwaukee

Celebrate the end of the running season with a fun and festive race along Milwaukee’s lakefront. The Lakefront Discovery Run offers a 15k, 5k, and a free kids run, complete with candy stations and costume contests. Expect a lively atmosphere with spooky music and post-race snacks. Costumes are encouraged, and everyone gets a free beer, making it a perfect way to enjoy the Halloween spirit.

Martial arts training at the Lydell Community Center gym; run by Phil Sauer of the North Shore Martial Arts Club. Phil has been teaching martial arts since 1972 and has been on the UW-Milwaukee instruction staff since 1979 — this is a deep-experience local resource. The program covers kicking and punching technique alongside practical self-defense. It's pitched as physical and mental challenge — the kind of training that builds discipline; body awareness; and confidence over time; not just a fitness class. Ages 11 and up; so this works for teens; parents; and adults training together. Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:15pm. Second family members get 25% off.
