Boswell hosts Nathaniel Chin, Medical Director of UW-Madison’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, who was He was named one of Wisconsin’s most influential Asian American leaders by Madison365. Chin appears for an event featuring his new book, When Memory Fades, in which he offers essential guidance for people experiencing cognitive decline and for their caregivers and families, helping them make the best decisions to improve quality of life for everyone. For this event Chin will be in conversation with Dave Grams, Executive Director of the WI Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. When Chin’s father, also a doctor, began to feel his mind slipping, even a family as knowledgeable and capable as theirs was knocked on its heels, disorganized, and unsure of what to do first. Chin, who became one of his father’s primary caregivers, was determined to figure out the best way to move forward, for his own family, his patients, and now, for everyone else. His book is clear, smart, and cuts through the understandable impulse to grasp at ineffective treatments. From the first concerns that something might be wrong right through to the toughest stages of the disease, Chin gives granular information and frames topics that help readers figure out how to think about what’s happening.
