In case you missed the news, Milwaukee Record and Busby’s will once again be joining forces to bring the city a full-fledged spring festival. Yes, following a successful debut in 2025, the second annual Morgan Park Picnic will return to the eponymous one-acre triangle at the edge of the Bay View and Fernwood neighborhoods for another day of fun on Saturday, May 23.
Between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Morgan Park will play host to a winning mix of live music, punk rock yoga, local food and drink vendors, area retailers, community support, and more. There will be beverages from Third Space Brewing and Odyssea Sangria as well as food from the likes of K&L’s BBQ, Not Bad Food, Off Shore, Pallino Burger, Pie Inc., and Tots On The Street. Morgan Park-adjacent Pennsylvania Ave. will be lined with an array of retail vendors and area organizations (all TBA in the weeks to come).
Oh, and there will be entertainment aplenty! The festivities will begin with a Punk Rock Yoga session led by Healium Hot Yoga. Once we’re good and limber, the stage will feature an eclectic blend of local talent. That lineup includes (in order of headliner to opener):
Social Cig
dak duBois & the flavour brigade
Emmitt James The Stankface Trio
Red Quean
In order to help cover a small portion of the (significant) costs of putting together an event of this magnitude, we’ll also be hosting a Morgan Park Picnic Fundraiser & Volunteer Sign-Up event at Busby’s (3475 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) on Sunday, April 12. From 2-5 p.m., there will be raffles and 10-Liners for great prizes. And sign up for a volunteer shift if you want to pitch in at the event itself!
Speaking of pitching in, we’d like to thank Morgan Park Picnic sponsors—Static Eye Design Co., Pabst Theater Group, Pie Inc., Third Space Brewing, Gruber Law Offices, Bay View Neighborhood Association, Dederich Swinney & Associates, Katie Egan-Keene Real Estate, Music Go Round Greenfield, Healium Hot Yoga, The Glow Land, Park People, Kneeverland Productions, and WMSE—for making this year’s event possible.
Save the date and join Milwaukee Record and Busby’s at the second annual Morgan Park Picnic on Saturday, May 23. We’d love to see you there!
