5-day hand-tool woodworking camp for kids 10–15 at Lynden. Make your own carving knife, carve green wood. Aug 10–14.
Whittlers: Wood Culture is Lynden's camp for older kids who want to make something real with their hands. Over five full days (9am–4pm), campers 10–15 use rasps and files to shape hardwood handles for fixed-blade carving knives, then take those knives into Lynden's back acres to learn green wood carving. The curriculum threads in how Lynden's artists and land stewards cultivate sustainable relationships with trees. Participants leave with a carving tool kit they built themselves and skills to keep going at home.
