5-day art camp for kids 6–11 at Lynden exploring portals and change via printmaking and paper-making. Aug 3–7.
Portals, Passages, and Gateways asks kids 6–11 to look at doors, openings, and thresholds—in art and in nature—as markers of change. Over five full days at Lynden, campers move through the sculpture garden and natural spaces reading works of art for their transitions. Studio sessions in printmaking, paper-making, and paint translate that inquiry into original work. A camp for kids who like to think and make at the same time.

Artists often use portals—doorways, openings, and gateways—to mark moments of change and invite us to imagine what lies beyond what we already know. In this camp, participants will explore transitions between spaces, ideas, and perspectives in the natural spaces and among the sculptures at Lynden. Through hands-on artmaking in printing, paper making, and paint, campers will reflect on how these moments of change can spark curiosity and shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
