The details

About this event

The Crafting Club at the Milwaukee Public Library's Capitol Branch is a delightful opportunity for adults to engage in creative projects using recycled materials. Each month, the club focuses on a different theme, such as making "plarn" from grocery bags or crafting with paper straws. It's a fantastic way to learn new techniques while being environmentally conscious.

This club isn't just about crafting; it's about community. You can bring your own projects or simply enjoy the themed activities provided. It's a great chance to meet like-minded individuals and share ideas in a relaxed setting. Whether you're an experienced crafter or just looking to try something new, the Crafting Club offers a welcoming environment for all.

From the organizer

Enjoy a chance to visit and be crafty with other adults. This summer the focus will be on using recycled materials to create arts and crafts, but you can always bring your own projects. This summer the focus is learning to do art and crafts using primarily recycled materials. May 7—making and working with "plarn" (plastic yarn made from grocery bags) June 4— make art with paper straws made from otherwise discarded paper and cardboard July 2—Red White & Blue—celebrate the country’s birthday by making a mixed media collage August 6— create art using scraps of fabric or yarn But as always you can bring whatever your working on and just enjoy visiting and spending time with other crafty folks.
