The details

About this event

At Tooth and Nail Studio, young artists can dive into the world of ceramics with this engaging clay camp. Over four afternoons, kids aged 7-12 will learn the art of handbuilding, creating personalized mugs for family and friends. The camp focuses on foundational techniques, allowing each participant to add their own creative flair with names, patterns, and textures.

This camp is more than just a creative outlet; it's an opportunity for kids to develop patience and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment. With all materials provided, children can focus on exploring their creativity and leave with a functional keepsake. It's a perfect blend of fun and learning, set in a welcoming studio space.

From the organizer

In this hands-on clay camp, kids will design and handbuild ceramic mugs made especially for family members or loved ones. Campers will learn foundational handbuilding techniques as they shape mug forms, attach handles, and add personal details like names, patterns, textures, or simple images. We’ll explore surface decoration using carving and underglaze to make each mug truly one of a kind. Along the way, students will build confidence working with clay while practicing patience and problem-solving. Finished mugs will be glazed and fired, creating functional keepsakes that are perfect for daily use or special gifts.
