From the organizer
Signify is a Chicago-based ensemble that plays the music of Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson. We dive deep into the band’s amazing catalogue of songs and play many of the longer cuts. Founding members Mark Pieper-keys and Fred Faller-drums, first played together in a production of Kevin Gilbert’s, Shaming of the True, called the Champions of Nothing. Mark was also an original recording artist with Big Picture, and Fred powered the eclectic sounds of Zip Tang. Rick Wolfe (Doc, as he’s affectionately known) played bass in Zip Tang with Fred and was excited to join Signify (then Cloud Zero) solidifying the rhythm section. Doc played professionally with Bad Oskar and has a long history as a touring rock bassist. Alec Yeager-guitar/lead vocals, was raised with the music of Yes, Gentle Giant, and Genesis before he learned to talk. He picked up guitar at age 12 and has been prog rocking ever since. Cathy Lawson Anderson, the band’s newest member, is a multi-instrumentalist, adding guitar, woodwinds, and vocals to Signify's sound. A lifelong prog music enthusiast, (shaped by an early obsession with Frank Zappa and King Crimson) she brings her unique voice and unbridled energy to the band -------------------- Big Time celebrates the great music of Peter Gabriel, including many deep cuts and rarities, along with the hits. Big Time is: Mike Sluis – lead vocals Mark Pieper – keyboards Paul Sladek – keyboards Rich Poston – guitars Andy Bunk – bass Fred Faller – drums Mike Sluis has been the primary vocalist in the Genesis tribute Cinema as well as guest vocalist for Grand Parade (Genesis). Rich Postan is guitarist/keyboardist phenom, currently with Sonus Umbra, Origin of Animal, and David Bowie tribute-Super Creeps. Andy Bunk is a bassist and longtime Chicago area fixture in the music scene. He has performed in numerous bands including Think Floyd, and Big Bang Baby, a Stone Temple Pilots tribute. Paul Sladek is an accomplished keyboardist having worked with many bands and also excels in audio as well. Tom Heslin is a bassist and long time Chicago area fixture in the music scene. His band Nomadic Horizon just released their 1st CD. Paul Sladek is an accomplished keyboarist having worked with many bands and also excels in audio as well.
