Every fall, Beet Street turns a stretch of Bay View into a block-long festival with music, food, and a crowd that feels like half the city showed up. The event started as a collaboration between Cactus Club, Goodkind, and Palomino, and it’s grown into one of Milwaukee’s best free street parties. The music lineup is always a mix of local talent and out-of-town bands, so you get a little bit of everything.
Besides the music, there’s a strong focus on community—dozens of local organizations set up booths, and there’s always something new to try or learn. Food and drink vendors line the street, and the maker’s market is worth a lap or two. It’s family-friendly, but by late afternoon, the crowd gets dense and the energy ramps up. Rain or shine, people show up for this one.

An autumn block party uplifting the intersections of music, community causes & seasonal treats What’s Beet Street? A collaborative neighborhood block party started in 2016 to celebrate the season with live music performances from local and international artists, delicious food and drink, unique learning opportunities and activities with a few dozen citywide organizations and a maker’s market. Rain or shine, Beet Street takes place the first Saturday of October from 1pm-7pm. The family-friendly celebration takes over the block of S. Wentworth Ave. between Potter (Goodkind) and Russell (Cactus). Started by Cactus Club, Goodkind and Palomino!
