From the organizer
Like a secret that can be kept no longer, the elusive & influential Souled American emerge for a rare appearance to promote SANCTIONS, their first record in thirty years. The band began in Chicago in 1986, hybridizing traditional roots music with roll & roll to pioneer a style later celebrated as "alternative country." Acclaimed by Jeff Tweedy, The Jayhawks, John Darnielle, and Counting Crows, Souled American recorded 64 songs between 1988 and 1996, a legendary body of work that has been unavailable for decades and is only now receiving the attention it has long deserved.
