Relive the Oasis era with Broasis at X-Ray Arcade — Britpop vibes and classic rock energy.
Part I
About this event
Broasis, a tribute band born from the passion of five Chicago bartenders, is set to deliver an electrifying performance at X-Ray Arcade. Known for their energetic renditions of Oasis classics, Broasis captures the essence of Britpop with a modern twist. This event promises a night of nostalgia and rock anthems that will transport you back to the 90s.
The band, featuring members from groups like Shiner and The Life and Times, has built a reputation for their authentic sound and engaging performances. Whether you're a die-hard Oasis fan or just love a good rock show, this is a night you won't want to miss. Arrive early to enjoy the full experience and grab a prime spot in the crowd.
From the organizer
Somewhere around 2015, no one’s sure of the exact dates, there was a stirring deep within the loins of five barkeeps that all happened to work in the same dimly lit whiskey bar in Logan Square Chicago. That stirring grew into a gnawing itch that could only be relieved by blasting a certain iconic British band over the speakers in the wee hours at work while pouring drinks for dubious patrons. And not just any iconic band. It was Oasis. Thusly, the idea for Broasis was hatched. After all, each of these bartenders was (naturally) a struggling rocker, each waiting for their moment to sit on the big log in the sun. Indeed within Broasis, there lie certain members of the bands Shiner, The Life and Times, Temps, Loose Face, and Hair to boot. Broasis’ first ever show was a snowy Sunday in February 2018 at a now long gone Chicago late-night hole called The East Room, and 5 stars were birthed in front of 200 sweaty frothing souls who were blisteringly reminded of why Oasis is so fundamentally satisfying; it’s the songs baby. In the ensuing years, Broasis began to play more consistently, including shows at The Empty Bottle, Sleeping Village, Loose Cobra in Champaign IL, The Ship in Kansas City and several shows at Metro in Chicago, the last time being the 30th anniversary of the first show Oasis played in the states on October 15th 1994. ’Twas a special night for the 700 spectators and our heroes alike. While not attempting to physically resemble Oasis (much), these five gentlemen, Allen Epley (vocals), Juan Sanchez (lead guitar), James Deia (guitar) Eric Abert (bass), and Nathan Case-McDonald (drums) have experienced more fun within this endeavor than any of these heathen souls deserves in a lifetime. So, come with us now and wipe the shit from your shoes. Nobody ever seems to remember life is a game we play.
